Davido (David Adedeji Adeleke) is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer who has become one of the most recognized faces in the global Afrobeats scene. Born on November 21, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, Davido was raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He comes from a wealthy family; his father, Adedeji Adeleke, is a billionaire business magnate, and his late mother, Veronica Adeleke, was a university lecturer.
Early Life and Education
Davido attended British International School in Lagos before moving back to the United States to study Business Administration at Oakwood University. However, his love for music led him to drop out, and he returned to Nigeria to pursue his musical dreams.
Music Career
Davido gained prominence in 2011 with his hit single “Dami Duro,” which became an instant sensation in Nigeria. Since then, he has released several successful albums, including *Omo Baba Olowo* (2012), *A Good Time* (2019), and *A Better Time* (2020).
